Why is it that a perfectly good Sunday so often goes down the tubes?
It's bad enough that the weather is cold enough to shatter teeth between the temperature
and the wind chill.
No, I am not a wuss. Just tired of the see-sawing of this particular winter.
Then there are the endless resumes. Those aren't so bad once there is a template.
It's the cover letters that are a bitch. I have landed an interview, over 2 hours worth.
But, I doubt that this is going to do me much good. I don't think I've landed the job.
So, there has to be an upside, right? Well, of course there is!
I am revamping my profile and hope it will be coming soon. Also made a few decisions
in my personal life. No, not getting a divorce or anything that dramatic. But, I've decided
that if I don't land another job, I may try to set-up my own business. I already have the spot
picked out. Now I have to find investors to help with the start-up money. I have a family
member who is good at that, so I'll ask him about it.
This would be a nurses' uniform shop with a twist. I figured I'd have the usual brand
name uniforms. The other thing I'd do is to definitely sort them by size. Nothing is
more irritating than endlessly thumbing through a rack of clothes with every size thrown
in together, which is pretty standard in the two shops that are here in town. But, two
other things would be different: I know a lady who is absolutely a whiz at sewing.
I might get into the business of custom-sewn uniforms as well. The other thing I'd
do is to have a resale shop and racks in the store. Perhaps nurses could trade in
uniforms and students their used uniforms in good condition and I'd rack them up.
Either give them money for their uniforms, or give them a credit towards another
purchase. I think I'd go with the credit the more I think about it.
I guess this Sunday wasn't as bleak as I first imagined!
